Update: Kilimanjaro Fundraising
March 16, 2012 § 2 Comments
As some of you may remember (and for those who don’t know at all) this August I am climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for the Charity Dig Deep.
We have a LOT of money to fundraise (a minimum of £70,000) and a LONG way to go.
So, I thought I’d shed some light on some of the events/activities we are doing to help bring the pennies in…..
This, unfortunately, is only for London folks. Tomorrow night (16th March, 2012) we are holding a jazz night at the Undercroft aka. Westminster University’s student bar.
The whole thing kicks off at 7.30PM, with tickets £4 for students and £7 for the general public. You can either buy them online or on the night, at the door.
I believe there will be a BBQ and us fundraisers will be walking around with our buckets for any spare change you may want to get rid of *hint hint*
It’s going to be a great night and the more who come, the better it’ll be!
To get to the bar, take the Metropolitan Line to Northwick Park – the campus is literally right outside of that station, head up behind the accommodation towards the main building and someone will show you the way.
Now, the beauty of this event is that you don’t have to be in London to take part!
On the 26th of March we are going to be releasing (biodegradable) balloons into the sky from the Marylebone campus and whose-ever balloon goes the furthest wins. Simple.
Each balloon is attached with a postcard – and the returner of the postcard will also receive £50 voucher. Tickets cost £4 and can be bought by texting ‘ball 66 4’ to 70070.
First prize is £800 worth of Thomas Cook travel vouches – helping to whisk you away to practically where-ever in the world you may want to go.
Second prize is a special edition iPad 2.

Now, if none of these things sounds like your cup of tea, but you are still interested in sponsoring either the group as a whole or me as an individual (we have individual, as well as group targets), check out:
Thank you in advance to anyone who attends an event, makes a donation or simply spreads the word about what we are doing.
